The Next Big Name in Operational IT has a Familiar Face

I met a vendor earlier this year and I must confess that I hadn’t heard of them. As their value proposition was being pitched to me, their representatives progressed the presentation to everyone’s favourite slide…That familiar patchwork of logos citing reference customers from various industry verticals and geographies! It was at this point that I started to seriously doubt myself. I had personally worked with some of the claimed reference customers and was surprised that I’d never had a conversation about this vendor, let alone been involved in any part of these customer’s adoption of their technologies…

After a little more conversation, it transpired that although I hadn’t heard of the vendor by name, I knew its mother, father, uncles, aunts and siblings (mostly adopted).

The vendor in question is Ivanti and it turns out that Ivanti is LANdesk, Ivanti is Centennial, Ivanti is Lumension, it’s both Shavlik and AppSense. Ivanti is RES Software, Concorde and more.

The penny dropped as I attempted to make sense of a complex journey of merger, acquisition and rebranding. This makes sense!

Ivanti is somehow greater than the sum of its parts. The components add up to a comprehensive and complimentary set of tools, many of which as silos represented the very best in class solutions available in those silos only a short time ago.

So far so good, but what is Ivanti and why do you need to know?

At its core Ivanti is a suite of tools that help deliver Digital Transformation and Optimisation, empowering and streamlining both Operational IT and wider business process workflows/automations; augmenting and supporting wider technology investment through an open and inclusive platform with rich integrations and all with security at its heart.

The crux of what Ivanti have come to be can be encapsulated somewhat by the below:

But this somehow also misses the point.

The articulation of the true business benefit of investing in such integrated solutions can only come from the position of understanding of your organisation’s operational pinch points, existing solution stack and technological and business aims.

Do you have a Windows 10 Migration Strategy?
Are you looking to automate and streamline Operational IT, reducing cost and complexity?
Are you looking to attain Cyber Essentials Plus or are you subject to other regulatory compliance that requires oversight, reporting and auditing of patch/access & privileges?
Are you looking to attain ISO 27001 and looking for a toolset to help you get there?
Are you looking to better integrate Asset Management and Supply Chain?

If you think you might benefit from a conversation around why we think Ivanti are strategically placed to become the next big name in Operational IT and how Ivanti could revolutionise how IT is delivered, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your MBA IT Account Manager.
